Swearing-in lunch

I am being sworn in as an attorney next week at Faneuil Hall (just what the world needs, I know). Is there any place to get a good lunch nearby? Not too expensive, I'm not billing any hours yet :)

  1. Congratulations! That must be exciting for you! If you have time, perhaps you might want to walk over to Galleria Umberto on Hanover Street in the North End for some of the best Sicilian pizza in the Boston area. Or you could walk over to Sultan's Kitchen on State Street for some very good Turkish cuisine?

I'd avoid most of the spots within Quincy Market, though if you're in a bind for time, Steve's (Greek) and Regina's (pizza) aren't bad.

Thanks a million, for the suggestions and the good wishes. Mostly, I feel relieved.

When I was sworn in only "special" people got the Faneuil Hall treatment. CONGRATS.

I had mine in some judges chambers and I went back to work.

Bombay Club and Steves are IMO the best places at FH.

I'd walk over to Neptune and live a little. This only happens once (we hope).

I'll second Neptune Oyster, it gets expensive if you order a lot but to commemorate a special event I'd also choose this great restaurant.

    2. I went to Pagliuca's after mine. ;)

I went to some place in Quincy Market after mine- I think where Houston's is now. Congratulations and yes, you should feel relieved!!!

Definitely take the rest of the day and enjoy.

        2. It depends how much time you have - I'd definitely recommend Sultan's Kitchen - you can take out or sit down (not much atmosphere). As for me, I went back to the firm after my swearing in and ate at my desk. Bah humbug!

          Congratulations to you!

I know not everyone on this board admires it, but Todd English's Kingfish Hall is right there, and a fun spot for a drink and celebratory meal.

            Congrats!

          2. If you don't have to rush back anywhere, consider wandering over to the North End and relaxing at Neptune Oyster or any other lunch spot that captures your appetite. It may be a bit of a splurge, but this seems like a time to unwind and reflect over good food.
