Can anyone recommend a good restaurant in the Solvang area for dinner? It's a party of 15, so large tables are appreciated.

Grappolo in Santa Ynez is my favorite - Northern Italian, indoor/outdoor dining. It is about 10-15 minutes away from Solvang.

Some find The Willows dining room to be very good at the Chumash Casino just outside of Solvang - elegant, fine dining and well-priced - a more refined upstairs setting than the casino itself. Could handle a large group:

Our favorite local restaurant is the Red Barn is Santa Ynez. Corner of Edison and Sagunto. Great Steaks, great cocktails, decent wine list and fish entrees for those not interested in steaks. Atmosphere to boot, checkered table cloths, relish tray. Able to handle large groups.

Some of my favs are Brothers at Mattei's Tavern, Cold Spring Tavern and the restaurant at Fess Parker's Inn in Los Olivos (it recently changed names). I've also heard that Los Olivos Cafe and Cafe Angelica are good.
