Macaroons in Phoenix?

IamJacksBrain Nov 19, 2007 12:23 PM

I know Essence Bakery makes the French style macaroons, but they only have a couple of flavors and not consistently. Where else in Phoenix (east side preferable) can I get French style macaroons? Is there a bakery that has a good variety?

They aren't those little coconut things, but two chewy cookies with some sort of creamy filling in between.

Wikipedia has more specifics and pictures.

Windubar recently raved about the macaroons from Sweet Pea Bakery. Maybe she'll chime in and give us more details!

        hey guys,

sorry i was out of town :D

yes, the macaroons at sweet pea are fantastic - slightly crisp exteriors that just melt, and the chocolate filling is amazing. if you ask nicely danielle might let you sample one first...they're almond with a chocolate filling..

i think i remember them saying they were thinking of adding some flavors for the holidays?? not 100% on that tho....
