Sheep Milk Ricotta Columbus OH area

My wife has an allergy to dairy products (i.e. cow milk, cow cheese, butter, etc). This presents many problems to me in cooking. One thing that I don't want to learn to live without is ricotta cheese. I'm trying to find a local distributor or producer of real sheep milk ricotta that is packed wet, like the cow milk ricotta you can find at a good market, like the stuff you'd use to make a good lasagna or baked pasta dish.

Anyone know any good places to look? We've tried the cheese store at the North Market, and it seems all they have is dried sheep milk ricotta, which isn't what I'm looking for.

  1. Hi I am not from the midwest but Sonoma County - where Bellwether Farms Sheep Milk Ricotta is produced. It is really delicious but I am not sure if you can get it out there. Hope the name helps you if you can special order it somewhere,

    1. Try Hills Market in Worthington Hills, 315 just norht of I I270. Call first and ask for the cheese guy (I can't recall his name, but if you ask for cheese guy, they'll know who you mean). If they don't have it. I BET he'd order it for you. He is a darling man and knows his cheese!
