Wagner's Express - Chesterton, IN
The best ribs in Northwest Indiana previously only available in a non-family friendly bar -- now opened a makeshift property in a strip mall on Indian Boundry Road in Chesterton. The wings are just as killer as the bar. Haven't had the ribs yet but the pulled pork was really excellent. Not cheap. A rack of ribs is $18, which is a few bux more than I paid for a rack at the bar last time I was there. Worth it though if they are as good as the bar -- and you can bring the kids (no kids allowed at the original). They are doing a huge takeout biz but I sat at the non-descript table to scarf down the premium chow. They don't even have a sign yet last I checked -- they're still working on it.
