My mom will be visiting San Antonio in February and I wanted to surprise her at the holidays with a reservation and a gift certificate for a fantastic restaurant in the area. Can anyone please recommend a great place that offers gift certificates? Thanks in advance!

Restaurant Le Reve is thought of by most as the best restaurant in San Antonio and by many as the best restaurant in Texas. Personally, I have eaten there several times and would choose it over anything else in the State. Don't know about gift certificates, but would not think it would be a problem. They accept major credit cards. Check it out at restaurantlereve.com.

Biga on the Banks is an excellent restaurant. I also like the Fig Tree but the service can be weird there.

Liberty Bar also has GREAT grilled duck salad. And pot roast (if its not sold out) and pork chops. It's been my husbands fav restaurant forever. And they also have his favorite Italian digestivo drink-cant remember the name but I think its awful.
