Pubs/Bars That Serve Food in Pasadena

Do you have any suggestions for good pubs/bars that serve food in Pasadena? I'm looking for a place that has a wide variety of beer, alcohol and decent food. Lucky Baldwin's is probably where we will go, but I'm looking for other suggestions. Thank you. :)

  1. This isn't exactly what you're looking for, but if you want a wide variety of beer and alcohol, you can't beat Yardhouse at Paseo.

I like to go there sometimes, especially when it's not too crowded. :)

    2. the bar at beckam place has a pub menu with 1/2 off prices and some freebies during happy hour. some of the food is decent, though i do not care for the restaurant.

      1. Crown City Brewery on Raymond or as someone already mentioned, The Yard House @ The Paseo.

In Arcadia, you have Matt Denny's on Huntington and BJ's just east of it. Both within 5 miles of Pasadena.

        1. Two places named Barney on Colorado Boulevard:

Barney's Beanery, spinoff of the original WeHo hangout, east of Raymond. I know opinions vary, but I've always had a weakness for their corned beef hash, and they certainly have a humongous beer selection.

I haven't been to Barney's Ltd. (NW corner De Lacey) for years, but they used to have pretty good burgers. (I should qualify that I don't drink but I have a bad habit of hanging out with people that do. ;)

I tried both Barney's this weekend. I liked sitting inside the bus in Barney's Beanery. The food was okay, and the prices were average. I recommend going during happy hour. Barney's Ltd. has a cheap menu during that time, and I think Barney's Beanery does, too. Service at Barney's Beanery was better than that at Barney's Ltd. The Beanery was also more crowded.

Barney's Beanery is on Colorado closer to Arroyo Parkway, and Barney's Limited is on Colorado closer to Fair Oaks. Both are in Old Town Pasadena.

I really love the turkey dip at Barney's Ltd, and also their delicious housemade potato salad. I mostly don't like anything about Barney's Beanery, down to their sticky floor.

          2. Thanks everyone. We ended up at The Nose for wine and then went to Lucky Baldwin's for beer. I thought the beer selection at Lucky Baldwin's was great. The seating could have been better, the music was pretty good, and we had fun. We also tried some chips at Lucky Baldwin's. They serve it with HP sauce, which was a nice touch.

I will definitely check out these other suggestions and report back in the future. Looking forward to trying new places. :)
