Have you tried L &B? While the food is not served family style, the atmosphere and portion size are perfect.
Not fine cuisine by any standards though... But thats what my family likes!

In order to get recc that will be helpful to you, you really need to supply more information.
EG: I don't think you necessarily mean "family style" service, but more than likely
a family friendly restaurant.

Is this for that holiday party of 50 you asked about the other day? If so, then I assume you are looking for large "family style" platters that contain multiple portions to be passed around. You will have to check with the places mentioned in this thread to see if they can accomodate you in that manner. Restaurants that don't normally serve "family style" will often do that (and sometimes prefer to do so) for large parties.
The only place that comes to mind that regularly serves like that is Don Pepe in Ozone Park, but I'm sure there must be others. The family style format seems to be more popular in the suburbs. But call around, I'm sure a few of the places suggested here will make a package to fit your needs. In my experience places that have just a beer/wine license versus full liquor tend to be a little more accomodating for this type of deal.

If gnocchi is correct about what you want, Garguilio's in Coney Island will certainly fill the bill. But note that while others here have give the food a big thumbs up, I have found it very "catering hall commercial" if you know what I mean.
