Mako.....Mako Sushi........Mako Restaurant...Confused

Which is which. I recently had an atkins post up which Mako were you all referring to for my vegan friend and my current protien only diet?

    Even if it is not, Mako in Beverly Hills is worth checking out.

      Thanks, what do you all suggest ordering that won't have sugar/bread/pasta in it as those are not allowed when doing atkins?? Looks like everything is very saucy.........

        Hmm, I've never eat at Mako with an eye towards adhering to Atkins principles, but if you were to go I think most of the seafood items would work, e.g. sashimi, shrimp, oysters, etc. The filet mignon is good as well.

        You could also ask them to tailor something specifically to your dietary needs; they're very accommodating.

          sashimi, sashimi, sashimi... stay clear of bbq-ed eel, or anything with sauces really... even ponzu is high sugar content. if you choose to do sushi, do go easy on soy sauce.

          you could do a little miso soup (avoid the tofu) and see if you can get a little steamed spinach or vegetables with lemon juice.

          nothing tempura or battered, which i'm sure you know.

          if you decide to go, i'd have them make a note alongside your reservation that you will be eating special order (?), i.e. sauceless.
