Ordering lunch in Red Hook

I have a small dilemma: Me and three coworkers work out on Van Brunt St in Red Hook (near Fairway). As far as we know, there are only a few places that deliver to us. And our old stand bys (Dub Pies, House of Pizza and Calzones, Hope and Anchor, Dafontes) are really getting too old at this point. Unfortunately, we can't get out of the office very often and we're so far away from most restaurants that we wouldn't have time to do much more than scarf something down even if we did. Does anyone live in the area and know of any hidden gems inthe neighborhood that we have yet to discover?

  1. I don't think the Fairway cafe delivers, but what about that new-ish Mexican place, I think it's called Viva? It got some favorable reviews here. You can call to see if they deliver.

    1. We actually ordered from Viva last week. And it was delicious, but a little pricey for lunch ($9.50 for a burrito, etc.).

      1. It's hard to get delivery in Red Hook -- we also order from Teeda Thai on Columbia and Fushimi (they deliver from Court Street). Mucho Gusto on Columbia delivers, and so does Mazzat (although they don't make their own pita, so it's good only if you don't care about soft homemade pita bread...)

The steam table place on Van Brunt and ?? Sullivan ?? (next to the school, 1 block north of Walcott) has some good items, Spanish food and ribs and stuff. Cheap too. Don;t know if they deliver but it's not very far from you.

The spanish steam table place is great! The food is so fresh that when they run for the day (can be as early as 1pm) they close. They have a really fresh and tasty avocado salad. I remember that they did say they deliver locally.
