Cutting sugar from recipe - adjust liquid volume?

I'm cutting sugar in a 2-loaf pumpkin bread recipe from 3 cups to 1 cup. I'm not replacing it with another sweetener. Do I need to adjust the moisture in other ways?

It's this recipe:

Most reviews have decreased sugar to two cups. I like my pumpkin bread not very sweet, so I'm dropping to one.

  1. I do sometimes cut sugar in dessert without adjusting any other part of the recipe and it comes out with no other changes than sweetness. While cutting down a third of the sugar is an awful lot, I don't think you need to worry about moisture level. Sugar does absorb moisture so yea.
