Yes, WS, & Cost Plus, Whole Foods....ask at TJ's, they've had them in past years.

I think Gelson's has them too. I bought some at the Olive store in Century City last year, but DH wasn't too impressed, especially after he heard that they were $14 a jar!

You can usually find chestnuts at Korean or Chinese markets. They may not be in a jar but vacuum-packed or in sealed plastic bags, but they'll be much cheaper than at a gourmet store.

On a semi-related side-note, do they still sell roasted chestnuts outside Nijiya Market in Japanese Village Plaza on cold weekend nights in the winter?
