  1. worst movie theatre ever...

with that in mind...for casual, 12th street bar and grill...for a bit more upscale and amazing, applewood on 11th.

i miss tozt, the panini shop on 7th over there.

I like the pavillion! It is kind of grungy... and small... wait, why do I like it?!
I've never been to 12th st bar, maybe tonight's the night to try it.

ive seen 2 movies there in my life...i feel like im sitting in some 1983 cutlass supreme in those nasty chairs.

See, I like that feeling, and liked the Pavilion when I lived nearby. Reminds me of the days of the good old neighborhood movie theaters, before all the corporate cookie cutter megaplex ugliness took over. But then I really liked my old Cutlass too.

I second 12th St. B&G as a good place to eat nearby. Across the street is the somewhat more casual Johnny Mack's. You could also try the closer Windsor Terrace commercial strip across the circle from the theater and down Prospect Park W. There are several small places down there. There is a bar/restaurant right next to the theater, but both times I've been in there it's been pretty terrible.

    2. I'm a big fan of Bar Toto at 6th Ave. and 11th. Fairly casual, good food, nice room.

it's far from the worst ever. and bar toto, applewood, 12th street....all good.

I tried Bar Toto last week and ordered the veggie burger because I had tried some of a friend's once before and really liked it. This time I wasn't impressed, something was definitely different! Oh well, next time I'll just get the regular burger. I do love their fries!

I have to say, I was disappointed when I went to Bar Toto last week. The burger way underdone (I ordered medium rare, but this was like raw), as were the fried calamari (barely crispy). It usually gets decent reviews here, but I'm wondering if it has gone downhill or something?

        2. I love Elora's at Prospect Park West and 17th Street in Windsor Terrace for fajitas and margaritas. It's just a few blocks from the Pavilion.

          1. Another vote for Johnny Mack's (grab a burger and a beer). As far as the worst movie theatre in Brooklyn, that miserable distinction goes to the UA Court Street--no contest.

I'll add Anthony's to the list -- 7th Avenue, near 14th I think. I especially like their appetizers (including the eggplant appetizer, baked clams). Sometimes I just order a few and call it dinner.

            2. Fez Cafe is just two blocks from the Pavilion.
Authentic Moroccan food, good desserts, mint tea, ambiance.
