Can't go wrong with a nice hot bowl from Pearl Oyster Bar....

Are you sure Pearl has Manhattan clam chowder? I don't recall seeing it on the menu.

I thought so too. I like the NE clam chowder there, but never notice there is Manhattan Clam Chowder.

they have it at THE OYSTER BAR in grand central. sit at the oyster bar, pair it with a half dozen or so oysters and a sierra nevada draft and you are money.

      yeah, that's my standard order!

Mrnyc is right. It's on their daily menu under soups for $4.95.

That is what I did on my first trip to NY many years ago, though we sat in the back lounge where we could smoke a cigarette after lunch (back when I was a smoker!), I went to The oyster bar in Grand central station. I had a Clam chowder, regular or Manhattan one I don't remember, and had oysters. Everyone should go there at least once when they go to NY!

*NOT* on the menu but something interesting to request that they serve, is a half and half. 1/2 manhattan, 1/2 new england. interesting to say the least. :-)
