Restaurant gift certificate ideas in/around Exeter, NH

  • 4

We'd like to get my sister & brother-in-law a gift certificate for xmas to a nice restaurant around Exeter, NH (where they live). They're not *true* foodies (they frequently go to The Loaf & Ladle), but we thought we'd encourage them to branch out. Any ideas in Exeter/Stratham/Portsmouth?

Looking to spend about $50 which might cover or off-set the cost of their meal out...

Thanks!

  1. You might want to do a Portsmouth a La Carte gift certificate - that way they can choose the restaurant: http://www.portsmouthalacarte.com/res....

    1. A couple of months ago, I had a good meal at 11 Water Street in downtown Exeter. It is a door or two down from the Loaf and Ladle. It isn't a destination restaurant, but it is a decent little local place that might fit the bill.

      1. We had a fantastic meal at the Black Trumpet.

If you want to expand their horizons, perhaps you could go with... we went with friends and were able to sample a wide variety of the menu (ostrich, duck, rabbit!). But if you know they have more conservative tastes jtdbean has an excellent solution!

        1. If they like Loaf & Ladle, I think Black Trumpet might be a little over the top for them. I suspect they would enjoy Townlyne Grill in Exeter, or maybe 1686 House in Kingston? I think Ship to Shore in Newfields would be fun for them, too.
