Help please with Denver food

Passing through Denver on Dec. 1st. Staying at the Holiday Inn, Henderson. Can
anyone suggest a place with awesome food (doesn't matter what kind) not too far from
there? Thanks for the help!

Are you sure you're staying at the Holiday Inn in Denver and not the Holiday Inn in Henderson, NV?

I believe there is a Henderson, Colorado South of Brighton near the Adams County Fairgrounds (I think?) Have no idea what there is around that area. I would not plan on being too picky though.

If there is some kind of straight westward shot to Erie, Mina's on the old downtown is a very, very good Mexican restant w/ some interesting dishes.

Yes, there is a Henderson, CO out on the plains. I've been there. Ain't no Holiday Inn in the vicinity! Actually, there's not much of anything in the vicinity!

Essentially it's Brighton, which is kind of empty for good eats as far as I know. You're at about 88th and I-76 which is probably 20-25 minutes from Mina's in Erie.

But it's actually a moot point since there is no Holiday Inn in Henderson or nearby. I think he's going to Vegas and is pre-emptively confused!

It is kind of odd but he/she said passing through Denver? And I just did a serach and there is a Holiday Inn Express with a Henderson Colorado address. Its on Brighton Blvd. Still doesn't help with where to eat nearby. I would eat in Denver on the way to Henderson.

Yes, this is the location I found as well. I agree, eating in Denver will be much better.

My favorite place in Denver these days is DUO, in the Highlands neighborhood. Really simple, down to earth place in an almost-too-hip (but not yet) neighborhood. American food/bistro. Apparently the pastry chef was so loved by the NYT food critic that he did a piece on the place when she moved to Denver from NYC. There is a lemon/caramel dessert that is out of this world.

I also have heard good things about Gil's although I've not been. Table 6 is good. Sushi Den still has outstanding sushi in Wash Park area. I'd avoid Benny's at all cost if someone suggests you go there for Mexican food. For wood fired pizza in Lodo, Proto's is great (they have other locations), very simple. The roman is my favorite. Rioja on Larimer Square is great still--went there this summer and had a fantastic meal.
