family restaurant

I have family from out of town visiting next week, and they are kosher. I need to find a restaurant in NYC where we can have dinner on Wednesday evening. We are a group of 17 people, ranging in age from 8 to 80...any suggestions? Thanks!

  1. what sort of ambience are you looking for? For the yonger side are they willing to eat outside of burgers etc? - For a little more upscale I would suggest Le Maris ( or Abigaels ( For a menu that will appeal to everyone you might also try Mr. Broadway ( or Mendy's Kosher Deli ( -

thanks for the suggestions... i just don't want it to get too pricey. Are either Le Maris or Abigaels more reasonably priced, or are they on the very expensive side?

reasonably priced is all relative - they are similarly priced - $20-$30 for entrees - - A site I use when selectinging restaurants is -

just a side point; a lot of restaurants force a 20% tip on large group tables, so be prepared for that eventuality, and getting lousy service since there is no longer and incentive to treat you right. also, talk to management to give your orders priority in the Kitchen so most at the table get the main courses at nearly the same time. it can really suck when you sit at a large family table, and only half the people are able to eat something. also try to pick a place you can "bring your own bottle" which can safe you hundreds on wine and beer costs.

Mendy's is probably your best bet.
