Hip Family Joint on South Beach

Will be traveling with my well-traveled 8 year old and husband over the holidays and would love to get out to try a fun place on South Beach. Would love a place where we could do some good people-watching and enjoy a nice meal. Any suggestions? (We are only there for one night prior to a cruise, so it will be an early evening as well.) Thanks for your input!

  1. I would do sushi samba. Ideal people watching location. Good but overpriced food but you will have to sacrifice great food for great people watching in your situation. I would go creative rolls (el topo, tempura rolls) or the cooked dishes which I find better than their more traditional sushi offerings.

    1. Lincoln Road:
-Tiramisu - fresh authentic Italian, beat the clock. starts at 5:30 p.m. and ends at 7:30 p.m. price you pay depends on the time you place your order. While there you can order from Le Bon (Belgian seafood) next door owned by same people.

-Balans - 'groovy london import with fresh and creative fare' $2 off all entrées. monday to friday 4pm-7pm.excluding holidays and special events

Tiramisu/Le Bon is a great suggestion especially with the beat the clock thing, which also applies to Le Bon. Le Bon is not just seafood btw as their non seafood dishes are solid options.

I would say that the food is better overall at sushi samba (unless you are a mussles fan - Le Bon is easily your best option then), but your value proposition is much higher at Tiramisu/Le Bon with their beat the clock specials. People watching is just as good as sushi samba. I find tiramisu decent but nothing special btw and I think the food at Le Bon is solid (one step above good).

Balans is great peoplewatching as well but the food is ok to decent. You will get better food at Triamisu/Le Bon.
