I just ate there recently and found most everything to be exceptional. The setting was nice- its housed in a "log" cabin set out away from town, nice and quiet. The ambience inside was peaceful and serene- the owners have obviously gone to lengths to tamp down the volume. We could actually have a conversation without having to scream and yell at one another (i.e. most Square restaurants). The food was the highlight- the bread was fresh and warm, the appetizers were tasty (try the mini-burgers), and our entrees were flavorful and generous. The fish we had was escolar, I think, and it was cooked perfectly. Creme brulee and banana bread pudding were outstanding. BYOB, by the way. The service was ok, they are friendly but not the most professional in town.

I kind of like the raucous atmosphere of upscale dining in Oxford. It's a lot of fun, and it reminds me of Galatoire's in New Orleans. I was hoping that this place would be along the lines of Yocona River Inn but a nice step up. I guess I'll have to save it for a romantic date instead of dinner with friends.

re: tennreb
I would agree that there is a place and time for raucous atmosphere, but not when restaurants are charging the prices that some do. I would also agree that it is a nice step up from YRI, and not just for couples. There were mainly large groups there as well as a few couples on dates. I hear on weekends there is a lot of familiarity among the different tables- we knew one or two groups there. At any rate, not trying to argue, just liked it, IMO.
