Has anyone been? I saw a blurb about this new place while riding the train this morning and reading a stolen Metro. The reviewer had such conflicting statements. He (or she) liked the place, said they have unusual dishes well cooked such as hare. BUT.. portions are miniscule and the meal quickly eaten. He also said it will be a great mid-range choice once they settle down. The bill for two was £90, including drinks. It didn't sounds like a great deal to me.
Was at l'Autre Pied last week.
I was very pleased with what I found; tasty food, interesting combinations, nice presentation, good value...
Eaves is clearly talented and showed some real touches of class.
It seems like a case of 'does exactly what it says on the tin'. Good food in an informal setting.
Stand out dishes:
Poached and Roasted Pigeon, Pumpkin and Orange Purée, Blackberry and Star Anise Glaze; and
Apple and Blackberry Crumble, Bayleaf Custard, Blackberry Sorbet
