Wait time for Serendipity 3?

Hi everyone,

Sorry to be asking a rather specific question, but I'm planning my trip to New York and want to get the timing down since I don't have a lot of time.

If I go to Serendipity 3 on a Friday night at around 11pm, how long of a wait should we expect?

    I waited 5 hours once. Luckily I lived right around the corner so I just went home for the wait. I think it is closed now due to health violations so you may want to call first.

        This used to be one of my favorite spots. Looks like they have the same problems as Bubby's.

        I've gone on a Friday night - i stopped by at 9pm to sign up - had a 2 hour wait - so was seated around 11pm. In the meantime - we took the tram to Roosevelt Island and walked around and enjoyed the views of manhattan for a bit. And then stopped at the bar by the Tram station on 2nd avenue for a drink. and still made it back in plenty of time to get our table.

          you're looking at 1.5 to 2 hr wait. Unless you have your heart set on going it really isnt worth the wait in the cold. Unfortunately there isnt really anywhere to kill any time in the neighborhood either

            are you kidding me jvish???? there's dylan's candy bar, and bloomingdale's right next to it!!! any yes you should definitely go there! the food is amazing and the frrozen hot chocolate is to die for!!

            Both times I had the courage to go to Serendipity on a Friday night, I was told 1 hr and 45 min. by the person at the counter. Once, I waited about an hour, and the other time less than 20 minutes. I think the key is to just go there with patience-- many of the others in line don't have patience, so you just may get lucky if they decide to forgo the wait.

              Just wondering, what time did you go at?
              The OP is referring to 11pm. Wouldn't a 105 minute wait mean by the time he gets a seat they're already closing?

              Last year I went to Serendipity on a Fri night, although earlier than you, and put my name on a waiting list. It was roughly an 1.5 hours to 1 hr 45 mins when we got our table. Your mileage may of course vary...
