Pinchos in LA? Anwhere?

  • 6

Ok, I'm in love with Spanish pinchos/pinxtos. I had them in Barcelona and I need a fix!

Anyone know where there are authentic pinchos in LA/OC/SD counties? Not americanized, bastardized, pinchos....ok, well, maybe as authentic as it can get. Is that asking too much?

Thanks in advance!

  1. joe miller of newly michelin one starred joe's on abbot kinney in venice is opening a bar called "pinxtos" in santa monica. i tasted their food at the project by project food and wine festival... it was all very tasty and spanish including an Anguila (not the real stuff however, but thats probably too much to ask for without blowing tons of money).

most of the other stuff in LA that passes as "tapas" i dont even bother with.

Oh I can't wait, do you know when its opening? We just got back from a trip to spain and I would love to find some pinxtos or tapas that are authentic.

im really not sure.. probably your best bet would be to call joe's and ask over there.

    2. Viva Madrid in Claremont

      1. Going to Tinto tonight and will give my review. But your best bet will definitely be Pinxtos when it opens, assuming Joe compliments his culinary pedigree with authentic Spanish influence.

As far as I know, there aren't any real Basque places in the L.A. area. A shame really...
