I found out the companion book for Anthony Bourdain's show was released on October 30th. Since then, here in Las Vegas it's been difficult to find, going both to Borders and Barnes and Noble with no luck. I had to finally special order it from Borders, getting it shipped to my home. The agent ordering it for me claimed "it's been a popular book, selling out in a day or 2, and they also didn't order enough copies" to boot.

Anyone else having problems finding his new book? I just was confused that a new book by a known author would be short-shipped. Hey, I know AB's no JK Rowling, but he's still well-known to foodies. If you've got the newest book, how is it, so far? I should hopefully have my copy in another week. I hate waiting...*sighs*

I saw a decent stack of it in the Ann Arbor Borders. I particularly liked the section titled Food Porn in the book. Very nice.

Had similar issue in Portland. B&N near me didn't have it but ultimately got it off Amazon. I'm a fan of the show, but I wish the book had more writing. It's mostly a photo-with-captions book. (Although the photos are excellent) I was looking for more behind-the-scenes info as in a Cook's Tour and/or recipes.

The "tips for travelers' at the end is entertaining, though.

Personally, I wish I had spent the money on the DVD set of the show instead.

I just got my copy on Thursday. It's a great photo-book, but the text for an AB book seems minimal to sparse. It just seems so....Odd. I got a huge laugh out of his "food porn" and "best and worst restrooms" chapters. I'm still happy I got it, no complaints here.
