I have been looking for an Italian deli...one with the staples....fresh roasted peppers, good Italian bread, mozzarella in water, etc...etc....anyone know where I can find one (preferably above 42nd St)?
Buon Italia in Chelsea Market is good and its fun to walk around and look in the other shops!
Milano isn't bad, I think on 3rd Avenue in the high 80s/low 90s - though nothing like DiPalo or Todoro's. And, actually, you can find a lot of those things at Citarella as well.
I know that you said uptown but DiPaulo's in Little Italy is excellent. How about Todaro in Murray Hill?
