I never miss a visit to Harrods food halls during my trips to London every couple of years. The vibrancy, diversity of goods and displays are wonderful. The wine and whisky selections are terrific as well. Also, I like to eat at the restaurant/counters that line the food halls.

Question: can any chowhounds recommend particularly good counters to visit for lunch in the Harrods food halls? Any style or ethnicity if fine -- looking for delicious and fun.

Thanks.

you can do much much better elsewhere and pay less for the privilege.

wine: check out berry bros in st. james or even handford wines on old brompton road. berry bros also has a fine whiskey selection, but you may want to check out milroys in soho.

Agree with Howler. But I also always go to the food courts becasues I find them so interesting. I never buy anything. It's just fun to look.

But if you really are interested; I'm not a fan of oysters but I have heard that the oyster bar is good.

Ignore Harrods it's a complete touristy, naff waste of time.

If you really want to go to a food hall, try the renovated Fortnum & Mason.
