Early Bird Dinners in Palm Desert? Good breakfast near Marriott?

Former foodie, now has twin toddlers, so we have to eat at the ridiculous hour of 5:30pm when we go out. Will be in Palm Desert at Marriott Desert Springs for a week and was wondering if there are any restaurants that offer early bird dinners that are tasty. Or any other family-friendly restaurant recs. Children are well-behaved. Good breakfast suggestions welcomed, too.

Breakfast is Keedys in Palm Desert on Hwy 111
Dinner is early in a Retirement Community just about every place is open and ready at 5 30. What type of menu did you have in mind? If it is BBQ it is my house :)

My wife and I were in a similar situation about 15 years ago with our two toddler girls at the same hotel. I do remember that one of the evenings we got them something to eat early, put them to bed at around 8, and then had a terrific room service meal out on the balcony brought up from the hotel's Italian restaurant.

I haven't been there in a few years, but I will offer this advice. Try to stay clear of the restaurants on the Marriott property. Hard to get a reservation and the food just isn't very good. The only thing they have going for them is you get to take the boat to the restautant. Other than that, it's a nice place for a getaway!
