Joe Berger Nov 10, 2007 02:58 PM

Kosherfest at the Jacob K. Javits Center this Sunday.
gosh, they want $60 at the door? That's nuts!
anyone going? please share what you see there.
I've love to go, but not for the price of a Steak dinner.

I went; a lot of sweets, and not too much new for my particular business.

I plan on dropping my daughter off at Kosherfest today probably about 3pm. Somehow she got a free ticket. She loves to cook and eat out so I expect her input to be meaningfull. Don't know how much she can accomplish, but just in case, I will send her with a shopping bag with instructions to fill it up as much as possible with freebies ;)

That is ridiculous, unless it is a suggested price, which will be contributed to a fund for needy families who keep Kosher to have baskets at Hannouka and other holidays, and year round.

        Is that centre in NYC?

Yes, the Javits is the main Manhattan conference center. Kosherfest is mostly intended for professionals within the food industry, not the average person off the street, which is why they charge that much.

Oh, that is different then. I thought from the OP that it addressed ordinary Kosher consumers. Trade shows normally charge a fee, and some are quite a bit higher then that.

I am going and will give a full report. Registering before today it was $30.The high price is emant to deter non trade. fyi: there are 10 kosher restaurants serving food like estihana, purple pear, grille de paris so it should be well worth the money
