Good, but inexpensive places to eat in the Times Square area of Manhattan
I will be in NYC (Manhattan) for about 30 hours in mid December. It will be just me, so I prefer to find places that aren't couples only or aren't geared that way. But at the same time, I would love to try some places that aren't necessarily chains too. I will be in the Times Square area and will be looking for some good, but inexpensive places to grab a snack or a meal. I like Italian, Mexican, Chinese, seafood (but not a real fan of fish, but love shirmp & clams) and American food. If there is a good pizza place that I can get a slice that would be great too. I love pizza. I won't be venturing out of this area either since my time in the area is short and I already have some plans to do things. Thanks for any help anyone can offer.

Daisy May's BBQ, on the corner of 11th Av. & 46th St., is excellent. Cafeteria-style set-up.
Trattoria Trecolori, on 47th St., b/t B'way & 8th Av., offers well-prepared homestyle Italian fare. Bar dining available.

Wu Liang Ye, on 48th St., b/t 5th & 6th Avs., serves very good Szechuan cuisine.
burger joint, at the Le Parker Meridien, on 56th St., b/t 6th & 7th Avs., gets a lot of love on this board. It's "hidden" behind a curtain at the back of the lobby.
