foodie entertaining 3 out of town foodies/restaurant managers/sommeliers... I'm always the girl people go to for restaurant recommendations, and yet i'm stuck. budget is no issue. cool factor is. let it loose, foodies! express yourselves!

Please don't forgot old timers like Barney Greengrass, Peter Luger's and Grimaldi's.

I second Masa, Degustation, Momofuku Ssam Bar, and Babbo.
If it opens by the time you're having the dinner, there's Momofuku Ko.

If you want formal (despite the fact you want "cool"), there's Jean Georges, Daniel, and Eleven Madison Park.

Another for Degustation. The bar seating might not work for 4 people. Falai. We had dinner there on Friday night. It was one of the best meals we had this year. Falai's wine list is not that great.

Where are the out of town foodies from? Any location or cuisine preferences? Anything to avoid?

Budget is not an issue, really? So, you'd be OK with going to say, Masa? :)
