Need good restaurant in/near French Quarter

My wife and I are visiting the in-laws in Alabama and will escape to New Orleans for one night. We are going to see Ellis Marsalis at Snug Harbor at 10:00, so we are looking for a good dinner in or near the French Quarter. We have been to NOLA and Irene's in the past and would like to try something new. We will probably be dressed business casual (no jacket) so we aren't looking for places that are too formal. Thanks for your help!

  1. There is a restaurant attached to Snug Harbor! I don't know how good the food is.

Bayona and Stella! aren't too far away if you change your mind about the formal bit.

    2. I recommend Adolfo's right across the street. It is a "hole in the wall" type of place but the food is fantastic Italian. They use nothing but the freshest ingredients and it is one of the best bargains in town.
The Marigny Brasserie is right down the street and is also very good and a bit more formal.

Both of those suggestions would have been the first ones I would have made. And while Marigny Brasserie is decidedly more formal than Adolfo's, 'business casual' will be perfectly fine at either.

      2. Or Cafe Amelie or Meauxbar in the Quarter.

        1. I would do K-Paul's. Request main dining room when making reservation; "upstairs" dining room does not have the K-Paul's feel and I have always had better service downstairs.

          Enjoy the show at Snug!
