filipino places have a great leche flan (extremely dense) and they usually throw a nice chunk in their halo-halo as well if you want a slightly diff. experience. I always prefer Ihawan in Woodside. can't give a super solid rec on any manhattan filipino dessert spots tho.

I have been making flan for more than a decade now and I have been told that my flan is great with perfect consistency. I thought of starting a little business on the side delivering flans to deli's and restaurants. if you are interested in trying my flan please let me know and i will provide you my contact details.
Thanks,
Veronica
