Sunday Brunch, Midtown
Looking for a good Sunday brunch in midtown Toronto. Yonge and Eglinton or Avenue and Lawrence kind of area, or nearby. Anyone have any suggestions? Also, some plaec that would be open for an earlier brunch, say 9ish. Thanks in advance...

In the Yonge/Lawrence area, Hazel's on Yonge has AMAZING breakfast/brunch fare - their Mexican egg's benedict is outstanding! While many of my friends don't feel the same way, I'm a huge fan of United Bakers at Bathurst/Lawrence (mid-town slightly west)... fresh, fast, inexpensive - a Toronto institution. While not "brunchy" persae, The Burger Cellar on Yonge, north of Lawrence is open in the morning and has great food. Their club sandwich is fantastic. I'll keep thinking...

They serve brunch on Sat. and Sundays, as well as breakfast all day. They have a nice patio. -
La Vecchia 2405 Yonge St. (North of Broadway on Yonge) http://www.dine.to/lavecchia# You can see their Brunch menu on their site but I doubt it is expensive. I suggest you call them at 416-489-0630

What kind of brunch are you looking for? Greasy, diner brunch? Or nicer, bistro-type brunch?
In the former category, in the Yonge/Eg area is Good Bite and Mars Diner. There is also an outpost of Sunset Grill, but I think it's pretty awful. These are open early.
In the latter category, just offhand, I can think of Soho Bistro in the Yonge/Lawrence area. I've enjoyed the brunches I've had there. Quiches, sandwiches, omelettes, etc. Don't think they're open at 9 though.
