Rumi?

Has anyone been to Rumi in San Carlos? I've had a hankering for mediterranean/middle eastern cuisine, and my default is Kabul, but I heard about Rumi opening up in San Carlos. (I'm also considering Kapadokia, which my friend raved about.) If anyone has been to Rumi, please tell me how it compares to other mediterranean/middle eastern places nearby. It seems to have gotten good reviews on Yelp, though there are only five reviews. Thx.

Any updates on Rumi? The menu reads like California meets the Silk Route.

Actually, we ended up checking out New Kapadokia instead, which was quite good. They had really interesting appetizers (which I don't remember, since it was a while back. . .). I think of the two, I have a slight preference for Kabul (just b/c I like their pumpkin and spinach dishes.)

So I haven't been to Rumi yet.

The place is fantastic. The food delicious. Interesting combinations that work. Not big portions but big flavor. I can't wait to go back. You need reservations. It's always packed!

New Kapadokia is a great place ... specially because of the service one gets there always and if you look for typical mediterranean food you wont be disappoineted.
However you'll miss out greatly by not giving Rumi a try. By far the best restaurant within 10 mile radius. The food is outstanging, superfresh, bold flavours, fantastic service ... I have been coming back over and over since they opend. Not to forget the winelist and desserts are heavenly.

I am afraid to try it - the menu has lists a kebob with "huckleberry mashed potatoes" - sigh.

New Kapadokia's food was very good the time we tried it, and it is a weekly favorite of my foodie neighbor, whose three children are always kindly received by the owner. It's the real deal.

Thanks for the info! Maybe I'll check out New Kapadokia instead, based on your feedback.
