(this has probably been asked a thousand times, but i did a search and there were too many variables to get good answers - including relevance by date).

i'm looking for a decent but not expensive place to grab a small bite - perhaps not a full meal - after the opera tonight, with 4 friends (5 total).

thinking perhaps over on 9th avenue?

low-key would be great

thank-you

    thanks both of you.

we ended up getting out of the Met at 11:30 that night and it was raining - so we all just went home.

will definitely keep in mind for next time.

I agree about Le Pain Quotidien. Just to be more precise: it's on 65 St., just east of Columbus. I think the address is 60 W. 65. It's a limited menu, but they have good sandwiches, salads, soup. Also a few entrees, but I never tried those because I'm usually there for lunch. I also like their quiche. You probably know them; they are a chain.

By all means go right across the street to Le Pain Quotidien.
