Santa Rosa lunch recs

Heading to Santa Rosa for a wedding tomorrow. We're staying at the Courtyard on Railroad st and looking for a good lunch spot--not too pricey just something we might not normally find in SF.

  1. Cafe St. Rose would be my choice, but no Saturday lunch :^(

    1. Might not be what you had in mind, but since the City is lacking in NY Pizza or Mexican cuisine, I'd suggest NY Pie, Antojitos La Texanita, and one I've not tried yet, Taco Max. Clicking on the Place links below will pull up discussion threads with more details.

I went to La Texanita last night with a friend. I finally tried their chicken enchiladas which were really good - they have listed under their specials. It seems as if they passed the tortillas in a chile sauce and then fried them. I think I like this better than the fry - then dunk method. I am addicted to the red chile and salty cotija pairing.

The shredded chicken was flavorful, slightly brothy shredded thigh meat.
I must also comment that the "Spanish" rice was exceptionally good this time - nice and garlicky, while still possessing a slight 'bite' and the peruano refritos here are the best beans I have had yet in town.
