Granny's Burritos, Portland, ME

Hi folks- What are your thoughts on Granny's Burritos on Fore Street in Portland? The food? The service? The decor and "feel"?

  1. Not a destination. Food is extremely bland. Room is what you'd expect from a place where you'd go to pick up lunch to eat at your desk. People go there for lunch because it's cheap and convenient and in the Old Port. If you want similar but don't need to be right on Fore St, go up to Oak St & Congress and get burritos from Herb's Gully.

    1. The decor leaves much to be desired, but the food is delicious, particulary for cheap eats and take-out. As MU said, Herb's Gully is another good choice and so is Wild Burritos on Congress.

      1. Ugh. Always(well, the 4 times I've tried them in the last few years) request NO sour cream...Alas, my burritos are drowning in the stuff. Others seems to love the place, but I'm left wondering WHY???

        1. It's just been reported to me that Granny's is no more. A very tepid "alas" from me.

They'll be back in another location per their owner. It was a lot better on exchange when it first opened. One of the dirtiest places to eat in Portland. Maybe a new location will bring cleaner employees and food handling practices.
