Brunch ideas needed

I'm arranging food for a baby shower (about 15-20 people attending). I have the more traditional breakfast foods down (coffee cake, frittata, etc) but am having trouble figuring out the more "transitional" lunch timey foods. Limitations: the attendees aren't very adventurous eaters and the budget is small. Any ideas are appreciated!

  1. In the spirit of Thanksgiving, you could do a beautiful chicken salad display using dried cranberries, roasted chicken, different colored grapes, toasted pecans, some curry powder, mayo, celery. Chicken salad is more of a lunch dish, but have enjoyed it at many a brunch. If you have a large platter, you can do arrangement and really make it a focal point for table. Chicken is usually inexpensive, if you want to be thrifty, you can use leftover Thanksgiving turkey! If you need more specifics, let me know.

    1. Two thoughts: salads and tea sandwiches. Both are tasty, both are safe choices.

For salads you could do a big green (with roasted veggies and goat cheese, or blue cheese and pears, or just a nice lettuce mix), and maybe something like a roasted potato and green bean.

Tea sandwich options are endless, but off the top of my head: roast beef and caramelized onion, turkey and avocado, and cream cheese and cucumber would be a classic and easy roster.
