Where's a good place in the Bay Area to buy interesting and unusual non-food kitchen stuff? You know, things that you would buy as birthday presents for chowish friends. I've been to Williams Sonoma and Sur la table and those sorts of places, but that's not what I'm looking for. I want weird, interesting, offbeat, beautiful, etc. and food-related. Like a really strange but gorgeous teapot, or a weird-looking pan designed to cook some obscure dish.

That odd little used cookware place on Divisidero just north of Oak.
Tons of stuff. All used. The occasional treasure. Not cheap.

It's where I buy birthday presents for chowish friends.

I'd try The Spanish Table on San Pablo in the East Bay. Fantastic Spanish and Portuguese cooking-related stuff. We bought our friend an azador and sent it as a mystery present. It's a terracotta dish with slats on top for cooking chorizo tableside. You burn any sort of alcohol in the bottom. It's quite spectacular. They also sell fantastic Spanish chorizo
