My boss is taking us to The Inn at Christmas Place for our annual fall planning. My bff and I will be going together since my husband will be working...we're looking for a great, the best, place to eat, drink, and be merry. Know what I mean? Give me a heads up...PLEASE! We've never been.

Your title is a great oxymoron. Seriously I'm not that familiar with today but a few years back when we went there wasn't much great dining there. Remember we had good trout dinner in Gatlinburg right at the entrance to Smoky Mountain Park, a big post and beam affair. Let me know what you find I'll be out there in January.

Oh, how right catsailor is! Great food and Gatlinburg and Pigeon Forge do not belong in the same sentence. Good food in that area of Tennessee is hard to come by. There are some decent places in Knoxville. Sorry!

Pigeon Forge was a wide spot int he road just 15 years ago. THere's really not much great eating there. Search that boards for Gatlinburg suggestions, or try Townsend for good food. There's a steakhouse called Trailhead (I think) that is really good. Dancing Bear Lodge is supposed to be fantastic -- the sister restaurant is Inn at Blackberry Farm -- really good but I haven't been. There's a lunch place called Sister Cats -- really just a tea room -- but it's good food.

The Chop House in PF has great steaks. The Peddler and the Park Grill are both good, located in Gatlinburg. I'm sure catsailor was talking about the Park Grill "a big post and beam affair".
