KC - Westport Flea Market & Kids?

Is this a kid-friendly sort of place? I've wanted to try their burgers for a long time but never was sure how it is for kids. Any idea?

Other than the smoke (which didn't seem too bad) it would be fine for kids, and as you walk in (park in the back lot), they might be amused by the stalls for the vendors. Really good hamburgers, good tenderloin too.

Thanks to everyone who posted! As a self-proclained foodie I love this site but wish there were more KC posts or even a KC forum all unto itself. We will try WFM soon with kids - I have a 7 yr old cheeseburger afficiando (sp??) so we'll be sure and give her review here soon.

If it is a great cheeseburger you seek, let me next point you towards Grandstand in Merriam, KS. Westport is my fav, but Grandstand is a close second. Enjoy!

kids are not a problem and welcome but there isn't anything for them but food. Burgers are great and you top them yourself. They do have a bar but mellow crowd, business lunch.

I also like to mention to WFM newbies that they don't take debit/credit cards, only cold, hard cash.

Sat and Sunday afternoons are he best times to take the kids, that is when the the Flea market part is open and when their are tons of families and kids. Evenings it has more of a bar feel.

I've brought my kids with no problems. There are a lot of televisions, if that's a concern when taking your kids out.

absolutely -- it is a bar, and people do smoke, so it that bothers you, you may not bring them. But it is an extremely casual place, and I've seen lots of children there.
