Latin Restaurant in Belmar, NJ
I've seen lots of comments on Bistro Ole in Asbury Park. I like the atmosphere and the food there, but agree it is not as good as it used to be. I heard the two partners split and the partner who ran the front of the restaurant kept Bistro Ole. and the chef opened a new place in Belmar. I can't find the Belmar restaurant - does anyone know if it is open?

It's open, it's called Vivas, it's in a strip mall near the bridge to Avon. I think the mall is called "Belmar Plaza". We were there once and enjoyed the food, which is - no surprise - a lot like Ole's food. I think other hounds have written about it - you might want to do a search here.

Thanks OGguy. I should have done my homework before posting. There was already info on Vivas posted. Most of the posts are from when the restaurant first opened and the reviews were very mixed! I'm wondering if now that they've been opened a few months, if they have gotten their game on. If not, we can always go to Casa Solar. That's also a BYOB in Belmar. The owners are from Mexico and South America and the food is great.
