One night in Lake Louise - where to eat?

greenboy Nov 6, 2007 08:12 PM

So we're in Lake Louise at the Fairmont there for my wife's birthday on sunday night. Given we have one shot at it, can anyone recommend somewhere nice to go for dinner? I've heard good things about the post, deer lodge and the station but have never had the pleasure of eating at any of them. We're not too fussed about overly stuffy places, but don't mind a steep bill for quality food. Recommendations please....and anywhere to avoid???

The Station is seriously good food - the head chef is an English guy who has worked in some of the best restaurants in London, New York & Montreal - beautiful surroundings & the 3 or 4 times we have eaten there it has been a special experience. Mostly local &/or organic ingreidents - simple food done right.

Yes, Post Hotel would be ideal.

My vote is on the Post, too. I ate there almost a year ago I guess, and it was great. There was a big group of us, and they were incredibly accommodating.
