Great diner in or near Saratoga Springs area?

Are there any great diners in the SS area? I'd drive about a half hour out of town if it's something as faboo as The Highland Park Diner in Rochester.
Check out Highland Park here ( so you get an idea):
I tried the Saratoga Diner and didn't like it much. I like Country Corner and Beverly's for breakfast and Compton's is okay. I just am craving a great diner experience, so any recs are appreciated.
The Miss Albany diner isn't much more than a half hour drive; I'd call it a good diner, but not a great one. The nearest great diner is probably the Blue Benn, in Bennington, VT (lots of discussion on the New England board), but it's more like an hour away. I'm very fond of Shirley's in Saratoga Springs; better than Compton's, anyway.

Thanks for the suggestions.
I just recently heard about Shirley's, so I'll give it a try. I'll let you know what I think.
Funny you should mention Blue Benn. I was chatting online with a customer service rep at Garnet HIll, and for some reason the convo turned to food. She had amazing things to say about Blue Benn. It looks very much like the Highland Park Diner, too.
Blue Benn has the most extraordinary cranberry nut pancakes I have ever eaten. I like the Country Corner folks a lot as well but the Blue Benn is an old stainless diner. the Gateway Diner in Albany is OK as is Parkwood in Clifton Park, Parkwood has a great buffet but I think only on the weekends. The Gideon Putnam does a great brunch, in the state park but other than that, I think you have hit all the best spots in your post and in others..
