Need help with a downtown Sacramento restaturant for entertaining a client. Looking for great chow, good wine list and nice atmosphere - mostly great chow and good wine. Thanks in advance for the help.

Spataro's on 14th and L. Super nice restaurant, great wine list, great food...or, Biba.

If you are looking to impress a male client, go with Chops right next to the capitol. They have excellent steaks and other carnivore delights and a full bar with wine. Waterboy and Biba are great, but not heavy on testosterone.

The Firehouse might be what you are looking for. In Old Sac. Great food, great clubby atmosphere and extensive wine list.

I second The Firehouse. The Downtown Il Fornaio has wonderful atmosphere, a good wine list and great regional Italian food, with a specail menu 2 weeks of the month.
