frozen custard sighting in Los Gatos

i *think* Los Gatos is within the purview of this board. well, for those of you who were writing about it wistfully a few weeks ago, Main Street Burgers has frozen custard!

i'd had really sugary waffles for brunch, so i didn't want a full serving of custard and opted for just a taste. it came out of a soft-serv type machine and tasted somewhat like the real thing, which i'd tried in milwaukee as a kid lo these many years ago. it didn't seem quite as eggy as the wisconsin version, though. the taste the counter girl gave me was a vanilla/chocolate swirl.

yeah, it was darned tasty. i wish i could've brought a full serving back to oakland with me. guess i'll have to think up a reason to go down again there soon...

Aside from the custard and ice cream (i didn't see what brand they serve), they have pretty good Harris Ranch burgers, hormone/antibiotic free chicken sandwiches, onion rings & fries (including sweet potato) fried in trans-fat free oil, etc. etc. fast food with healthy ingredients... you know the deal, it's not actually good for you but you feel a little better about eating it.
