Pei Wei in springfield??? Any other good Chinese in Delco.
Has anyone tried food from the new Asian bistro by PF Chang? I had high hopes for this place- and still do... but I picked up wonton soup and shrimp fried rice for my husband- and he said both were awful. I begged him to give it another chance (I would love to try the crab wontons and the orange peel chicken) but my husband claims that if they can;t do wonton soup or fried rice right, how can I possibly thing anything else will be good from their.
On another note, where can you get good quality Chinese takeout in Springfield or drexel hill area- good quality???

I really like the takeout from Margeret Kuos in Media, from Yangze Inn (sp?) in Media (they deliver to certain places), and from Chen Hing in Swarthmore.

We tried Pei Wei- it was truly awful. Very very bland food.

Actually, when I went to the City Ave. location during the grand opening week, all our dishes were either drowning in sodium or sugar. Ordered a spring roll app, which was ok. My partner's dish came w/in minutes of the app. However, it took my dish another 20 minutes to arrive, despite a series of complaints. I figured, it's their first week - they'll adjust.
However, even if my dish arrived on time, Pei Wei cannot undo the fact that their green curry sauce is absolutely horrible. Yes, maybe this is not the right place to be ordering curry - however, the menu description sounded great. What arrived was a brownish green glop with the consistency of week-old turkey gravy. The curry was one dimensional, meaning, no extra kick of salty or sweet - just curry. I was given a $10 coupon as a concession. I noticed that just about every other table received one as well.

There is a new Pei Wei opening up in Cherry Hill very soon. I wondered how the food was, but I think my questions have been answered. Very disappointing to hear about the lackluster food they serve.

wow, this place is taking over the suburbs... there is also one that just popped up on city ave, close to belmont (actually i guess it's on the south side of city ave, so that's technically philly i suppose). i'd previously never heard of them, but assumed they are a chain because they are lumped in there with all the other big players, potbelly sandwiches (a horrible name!), a new target, chipotle, a starbucks... it's a shame that a new shopping center goes into a desolate area (foodie-wise) and it immediately gets packed with chains. how i would love a decent takeout place in that area, as it's conveniently on my route home from work.
