Any suggestions of great restaurants to go to with a 6 year old? Lunch, dinner?

  1. Where will you be? Are you willing to travel? When will you be in town (weather is going to be nasty for a couple of days and then warm up - may affect walking advice)?

I think Scoozi's has a program where the little ones can make their own pizza. Also, Greek town is engaging for a child. Get the saganki.

We will be in Chicago 11/8 - 11/10 and staying at the James Hotel on East Ontario. I think that we want to stay in Chicago proper. I like both of your suggestions. Are they anywhere close to where we will be staying?

Your hotel is just north of the Loop (Chicago's commercial district). Scoozi ( ) is about half a mile west of your hotel, so it's walkable. Greek Town (see for recommendations) is about a mile west and half a mile south, so you might want to cab it.

Another place I've been with two children that age is Grand Lux Cafe, which is less than a block from your hotel, on Michigan Avenue at Ontario. It was just perfect, I thought. Open seven days for both lunch and dinner.

I would suggest Maggiano's Little Italy a few blocks walking distance at 516 N Clark St, (312) 644-7700 and Portillo's Hot Dogs right down the street from The James at 100 W Ontario St at Clark. - Pizzeria Due at 619 N Wabash Ave, Big Bowl at 60 E Ohio and of course, the Rainforest Cafe at 605 N Clark St... some of these are common, but very kid friendly, especially when you're six.

Those are all great suggestions too!
