clear old posts

I think that posts more than 2 years old should be erased. What are your thoughts?

The only area where I could see the need to do this would be restaurant reviews. Yesterday I was reading a thread on area restaurants in Charlotte and was scratching my head because some of the restaurants were long closed. I realized the original post was in 1999! But restaurant reviews are sprinkled throughout the whole site and would be tough to clear out. I enjoy them all!

And sometimes people revive old threads - either with a new review, or to mention that a place is closed, etc., and as far as I'm concerned, that is all useful information.

Sometimes I see posts less than a day old and think they should be erased ... :)

I wouldn't want them to be erased, particularly because the Home Cooking board is a treasure trove of information, which doesn't get dated. Also, I still link to older recommendations that are indepth reviews on the regional boards, when I know that that experience is still a valid one. I'd hate to lose all that.

Why do you think they should be erased?
