Howdy folks-- So I'm from Boston originally, and recently moved here. Question for y'all - where in the city can the best New England Clam Chowder be had? I've had it at City Crab, and Grand Central Oyster Bar; any other thoughts?

Not sure if it is really authentic, but I think the NE clam chowder at Pearl's Oyster Bar is excellent!

i think that City Crab makes a freaking sensational clam chowder. I have it all the time there. Never fails to impress.

I agree with Pearl's, and I also love it at The Lobster Place at Chelsea Market. I wasn't as crazy about the version at Grand Central Oyster Bar.

The she-crab soup at OYSTER in Grand Central is much tastier than their Clam Chowder. It's delicious.

I am also from Boston and I agree with the Lobster Place in Chelsea Market. Although I have never had it at Pearl's.

I've had NE clam chowder in all the places mentioned above except for Dock's. I recommend Track's in Penn Station. Sort of off topic, the shellfish soup, Central American version at Honduras Maya in Windsor Terrace, Brooklyn.

Lure Fish Bar's is also really good

As a native Bostonian, I can confidently say you are only going to be happy at Mary's Fish Camp and Pearl's. They are the closest mimic of Legal Sea Foods, No-Name Restaurant, and the Cape Cod clam shacks.
