  1. Here is a real question, where can you find a good bagel in Miami???? where there are normal flavors like poppy, egg and sesame

There are places in NY that ship, and though the bagels hold up pretty well, It ends up being pricey. Apparently Brueggers does make normal flavors but the fact that they make all these others...sorry.

the closest to "normal ny bagels"
sage in hallandale beach on the blvd just east of US1
        and
miriams on university drive in plantation - just south of broward blvd on east side of street

I've never been a big fan of Guns & Bagels.
            I like Sage.
            Bagel Bar ain't bad.

I am a huge fan of Bagels & Guns. Their bagels are excellent. Much better than Brueggers.

Poppy seed bagel, veggie cream cheese...yum.

Try the matzoh ball soup and knishes...to die for.

I don't like their bagels as much as Bagel Bar or even possibly Bagel Cove, but I do like the "combo platter" - choice of 1 cream cheese, 2 salads (tuna & whitefish please), side of potato salad or cole slaw, and a bagel for about $9. Add another bagel and you can feed 2 happily.

            2. re: sysbit

Agree with Sage. probably the best I've had in SFlo.

        2. Mo's on 187th St. just east of Biscayne Blvd. has bagels that are the equal of New York, Also the bagels at Bagel Cove, about two blocks north on Biscayne, are not bad either. They both have very good bialys also.

          1. Brueggers is coming to South Florida. The first Brueggers will be in Boca Raton on Federal Highway.

Brueggers is good if there aren't any "real" bagel places around. When we're in the mountains in NC we actually drive into Asheville for Brueggers, but when you're in South Florida there are other options. I think Sage has the best bagels, but prefer to eat at Bagel Cove.

What a surprise it is going to Boca! I will have to check it out with the in-laws from West Boca!

Their proposed location is not far from Flakowitz also on Federal Hwy. Can they succeed? In our area (Albany NY) they seem to have reduced the size of their offering to the point of annoyance. We'll see, and I will try them of course come next "season". In the mean time I would like to hear comments from more local consumers (visitors or residents).

                2. Once again, why would you go to Bruegger's when they are way better independent bagel shops around( especially in S. Fl).

The Sage in Hallandale, makes excellent bagels. I grew up in Plantation and we always went to Marian's Bagel host on Sunday. I would take a Sage Bagel over Marians today.

Here is a quick story. I was back in FL in March( I live in Ontario now) and I had a 9am flight to Detroit. I woke up at 6am, drove to Hallandale( from Sunrise) and bought 2 dozen bagels to take home. They were still hot so I couldnt pack them. I put them in the overhead bin. The Flight Atten said " I smell Garlic bread" I said " oh, its just bagels". Long story short, she used to live in Plantation but now lives in WI. I gave her a fresh hot bagel. She moved me to first class!!!

Now, do you think she would have done that for a Bruegger's bagel which she can get in WI? I think NOT!!!

Ok forget about the bagels, my question is how did you get food not purchased by the gate on the plane?

                  2. And the Green Mtn. coffee they serve is best in the world!
